Богослужения и подготовка к Великому Посту
Церковь нас всех призывает начать подготовку к Великому Посту, предшествующему Празднику Праздников – Пасхе (в этом году Пасха будет 20-го апреля).
В субботу 8-го февраля мы открываем «Триодь Постную» - книгу, содержащую все богослужение предпасхального периода: от недели Мытаря и Фарисея до Великой Субботы (по-славянски слово «неделя» обозначает «воскресенье»). Хотя Великий Пост начнется только через три недели, 3-го марта, Святая Церковь уже начинает преподавать нам уроки смирения и покаяния, необходимые в нашей духовной жизни. Вечером на Всенощной, которая начнется в 18 часов, в молитвах мы услышим объяснение притчи о Мытаре и Фарисее (Лук. 18:10-14), а также дивную молитву «Покаяния двери отверзи ми, Жизнодавче».
В воскресенье 9-го февраля Литургия, на которой будет прочитана притча о Мытаре и Фарисее, начнется в 10 часов утра.

В среду 5-го февраля будет Акафист Божией Матери в 19 часов, после чего будет урок Катехизиса. Во время Триоди Постной в этом году мы подробно остановимся на последних часах жизни Спасителя перед крестной Смертью. В прошлую среду мы начали говорить о Тайной Вечери и продолжим в эту среду.

Services and preparation for Great Lent
The Church encourages us all to start preparing for the Great Lent preceding the Feast of Feasts - Easter (this year Easter is April 20).
On Saturday, February 8, we will open "The Lenten Triodion," a book containing the entire pre-Easter cycle of services - from the "Sunday of the Publican and Pharisee" to Holy Saturday. Although Lent does not begin for three more weeks (Great Lent begins this year on March 3), the Holy Church is already beginning to teach us lessons in humility and repentance, which are indispensable in our spiritual life. This Saturday evening at the Vigil, which will begin at 6 o'clock, we will hear the explanation of the parable of the Publican and the Pharisee (Luke 18:10-14) in many of the prayers. And the marvelous Lenten prayer "Open the doors of Repentance for me, o Giver of Life" will sound for the first time this year.
On Sunday, February 9th, the Liturgy, during which we will hear the parable of the Publican and the Pharisee, will begin at 10:00 am.

On Wednesday, February 5, will be the Akathist to Mother of God at 7 pm, after which we will have our catechism class. During the Lenten Triodion this year we will review in detail the last hours of Our Savior’s life before His death on the Cross. Last Wednesday we started talking about the Last Supper and we will continue on Wednesday.
