С большим духовным подъемом прошла молитва и встреча с Начальником Духовной Миссии в Иерусалиме Архимандритом Романом. Во вторник 10 сентября отец Роман прибыл к нам в храм на Всенощную и возглавил богослужение. Во время ужина, устроенного нашим сестричеством, Начальник Миссии насыщенно рассказал о Духовной Миссии и многих трудных обстоятельствах, в которых приходится работать в Святой Земле.

В среду, в день Усекновения Главы Иоанна Крестителя отец Архимандрит служил с нашим Настоятелем. В проповеди отец Роман обратил внимание, что этот праздник особый – по своей сути страшный; казнь Предтечи Иоанна произошла по злой воле царя, который с одной стороны увлекся страстью, а с другой, не смог преодолеть своей непомерной гордости. О. Роман отметил, что в церковной жизни, также как и в любой общественной деятельности, каждый христианин исполняет определенную должность. Все мы члены одного тела и только работая вместе, можно идти вперед: не может же нога, потому что она ниже головы, отказаться нести тело, или глаз перестать смотреть, потому что ему это надоело. Только в духе христианской любви и сотрудничества, каждый на своем месте, можно создать крепкий приход.

Замечательно постарались певчие, украсившие пением богослужения. Большое спасибо певчим, сестричеству и всем потрудившимся для встречи дорогого батюшки.

On Tuesday, September 10, Fr Roman arrived at our church for the Vigil, and led the service. During the dinner, arranged by our sisterhood, the Head of the Mission spoke about the Mission and the many difficult circumstances in which he works in the Holy Land. On Wednesday, the day of the Beheading of John the Baptist Fr. Roman served with our Rector. In his homily Fr. Roman pointed out that this is an unusual holiday – it is inherently terrible; the execution of John the Baptist was due to the ill-will of the king, who on the one hand was carried away by lust, and on the other, could not overcome his immense pride.

The Head of Mission also noted that in the Church's life, as well as in any social activity, every Christian has a certain position. We are all members of one body, and only by working together we can go forward: the foot cannot refuse to bear the body because it is below the head, nor the eye cannot stop seeing, because it is tired of it. Only in the spirit of Christian love and cooperation, each one of in our own place, can we create a strong parish.

The choir song remarkably, enhancing the service. Thank you very much to our singers, sisterhood, and all those who worked to greet our dear Fr. Roman.

On Saturday September 14 classes started in our parish school. Those who did not enroll their children you still have time, but hurry so that your children do not miss too many lessons.
